Meet Amanda.

Hi! I’m a senior-level UX Content Strategist at Capital One in Richmond, Va. With 10+ years of experience, I’ve been devoted to the art, science, and craft of content strategy before the industry ever really gave it a name.

I work closely with our design team, product owners, legal, and tech stakeholders to imagine a more human side of banking by designing web and mobile interfaces that help customers understand their relationship to their money. My role is very fluid, which I love. I often zoom in and out of higher level design strategy (end-to-end customer journeys, personas, service blueprints) to narrow scope at the most zoomed in level of execution: content.

I also serve as a visible advocate for content strategy across Capital One’s entire organization, leading our Content Community of Practice forward with over 500+ members strong. Not only are we building community through events and workshops, but we also create content design systems and evergreen resources that both writers and non-writers use internally to maintain content standards and best practices.

Education

I graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. in 2012. While at Emory, I purposely took a range of brain-bending courses like Portuguese, advanced level statistics, and human ethics. At the time, I was focused on the niche xeld of qneurolawq, but ultimately dropped the law part - the rest has served me well in the UX xeld!

Things I ♥
Games (Oculus, Switch, tabletop - I’m down for whatever!), photography for food trucks and small businesses, homebrewing, reading, vintage treasure hunting, and cat-wrangling.
