The best thing about owning a business isn't just the freedom, ability to travel, or take on projects that align with your vision – it's the chance to put compassion to work and pay it forward.

In 2015, my goal is to set up part of Lexicontent's profits for philanthropic giving, whether it be towards literacy, abuse, animal rescue, or medical research. I want our clients to know that when they work with us, they're not only making their customer's lives better, but they're lending a helping hand to someone in desperate need. If we move in the direction we have our eyes set on — that is, through workshops, book sales, speaking engagements and community events — then we'll be able to leave our small dent in the universe.

I'm excited to check back this time next year and share more about the impact we've made, financially, personally, and professionally.

No matter how successful you become or how much money you earn, you can't take it with you when you go. If I can share with those in need for the rest of my time here, I'll be content.
